Jilungin (Terminalia canescens)
Jilungin is the leaves, bark, and stem of the Winged Nut Tree commonly found on the Dampier Peninsula as well as the Adelaide River/Litchfield area.
Harvested after the wet season and dried in the sun, ‘Jilungin Tea’ assists in digestion, relaxation and deep sleep. It has a mild earthy flavour & aroma and has antioxidant levels similar to Green Tea. Our milled leaf has been scientifically shown to contain more TPC and antioxidants than green tea. Steeped whole leaf contains less than green tea.
Add 1 heaped teaspoon to 500ml of boiling water in a teapot or infuser
Steep for 10-15 minutes.
Enjoy hot or chilled as a refreshing iced tea
Terminalia canescens (Winged Nut Tree)is a small semi-deciduous tree (up to 10 metres) with cream/white flowers, silver grey foliage and winged fruits. It is tolerant of a variety of habitats including open woodlands and skeletal soils.
